Nat. Brut’s 12 Emerging Media and Arts Feminists Are Ones to Watch

Nat. Brut, a biannual journal of art and literature that aims to advance equality and inclusivity in all creative fields, is on top watch for the fellow creatives you should follow. Its editors know which feminist writers are breaking out into the media, which intersectional and inclusive projects are going on, and everything in between. In advancing intersectional feminist perspective, Nat. Brut brought together a list of women in the media, journalism, and the arts whose work and perspectives should definitely be given a closer glance.

Sophia Wallace is the founder of the artistic campaign Cliteracy, which attempts to expel the stigma surrounding the clitoris. The “Stop Telling Women to Smile” movement was started by Tayana Fazlalizadeh, an artist and illustrator working to end catcalling and other racial and sexist discriminations. If you’re an avid podcaster, listen to Zahra Noorbakhsh – a comedian who explores “the intersection of religious identity and contemporary life through current events, political commentary, and a whole lot of laughs.”

These women are creating their own social justice campaigns through their personal artistic expressions. Nothing will stop these powerhouses, so jump in and check them out!
